At Kokoro Kidz, our mission is to inspire kids and parents to discover new worlds, characters, and adventures through books that teach, inspire, and encourage. We believe that reading is an essential part of personal growth and we strive to make it accessible to everyone everywhere.
What is KOKORO?
Kokoro Kidz is a website dedicated to promoting books and blogs about Jiu-Jitsu--but for kids and their parents as well. The art of Jiu-Jitsu has been passed down for generations by teacher to student for centuries, evolving into one of the best forms of self-defense and martial arts, and we have taken the basic principles of traditional Jiu-Jitsu, but made for children to understand. It’s commonly said that “Ju is an individual’s heart and can only be instructed by another heart. In martial arts, Kokoro means heart- an attitude and one’s character. In context, Kokoro is like a thread woven through many martial arts because character is a central concept with an emphasis on improving oneself. Deciding to start a martial art requires years of hard work, dedication, and training—and most importantly, it requires heart.
